2025: A Great Year for the OptoPowerLab!

After our PhD student, Vincenzo Terracciano, was awarded the Best Paper Award at THERMINIC 2025 (read more here), another remarkable achievement follows: a second Best Paper Award for OptoPowerLab at the ESREF 2025 conference!

This time, the award-winning paper is titled “In Situ Monitoring of Package Strain During HTRB Based on Fiber Optic Sensor” (read the paper here).

This paper truly embodies the dual focus of our lab, blending optoelectronics and power electronics. It introduces an innovative method for monitoring strain in power device packages using fiber optic sensing technology.

The ESREF (European Symposium on Reliability of Electronic Devices, Failure Physics, and Analysis) is one of the premier conferences in the field. The 36th edition was held this year in Bordeaux.

Alessandro Borghese, the presenting author, shared his excitement and insights on LinkedIn (view his post here).
