Dr. Marrazzo and Prof. Breglio, representing the UNINA Optoelectronics Group, recently attended a project meeting in Milan dedicated to PROTECH, a research initiative focused on the development of innovative technologies for biomedical applications.
The meeting included a dissemination session introducing the theoretical principles of the proposed system, which aims to provide a new method for assessing the presence of blood perfusion during stereotactic brain biopsy procedures. This approach is intended to support more informed intraoperative evaluation and contribute to the advancement of precision techniques in neurosurgical practice.
Following the theoretical presentation, participants took part in a practical demonstration using the dedicated instrumentation. The hands-on session allowed the team to examine the operational aspects of the system and to discuss its potential integration within experimental and clinical research workflows.
The visit represented an important opportunity for scientific exchange and collaboration among the project partners, further strengthening the shared commitment to developing innovative solutions for safer and more effective biomedical procedures.
